Alessi Edo Asparagus Steamer

Alessi’s Edo asparagus steamer with basket helps you get the springtime dish just right: the tall and narrow pot keeps the stalks upright so that the bottoms boil while the tops steam above the water. Alessi’s Edo collection got its name from two different directions: the name refers to the Latin word “edere”, meaning “I eat”, and Edo is also an ancient name of the city of Tokyo. Italian traditions and Japanese influences unite in the collection into a smooth, seamless elegance. Patricia Urquiola’s Spanish roots are also visible in the shapes of the lids that were inspired by Basque chapelas. The most recognizable details of the Edo pots and pans are the brown, curved handles reminiscent of fabric ribbons.
